Privacy Policy

Similar to most web sites, we collect some sort of information about our visitors in order to gather statistics about how many visitors we get each month, what are the most and least popular pages on the web site, where there may be problems in serving certain pages to visitors, etc.

Please be assured that we have no interest in personally identifying our users. The only thing that we are interested in is the overall statistics of our readership. Cumulative figures that provide a picture of visitor traffic to our site are vital in our efforts to attract advertisers and to monitor how well our web server is keeping up with our readership.

Apart from these, we collect information from when a visitor registers on our site, subscribes to our mailing list, fills a form, or leaves a comment. The information asked maybe the visitor's name and email address. Note that a visitor may choose not to provide these and browse anonymously.

Data Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal and identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others' rights, property, or safety. However, non-personal and identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Web Traffic Data Collection

We use Google Analytics for information collection. Each time someone visits the site, the following details - if available - are collected: The IP address of the visitor's computer and/or Internet service provider (for visitors' confidentiality, we have enabled IP anonymization so that Google will never save complete IP address), the domain name and country of origin of that computer, its operating system, and the type of web browser being used. You can find out more about Google's data privacy and security at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245, and you can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely by using a browser plug-in that Google has developed (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). We also may participate in certain web traffic services, as part of web traffic reporting obligations to certain vendors and partners that may require such data in order to receive their services.

Advertising-Related Data Collection

Third-party advertising agencies' usage information may include, in part, browser type, operating system, device type, an estimation of your geographic location associated with your IP address, the page served, the time, referring URLs, and other information normally transmitted in HTTP requests.

Third-Party Advertising Cookies

Third-party advertisers may also place a "cookie" on your browser. For example, Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on NewAnced. Google's use of the DoubleClick DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their visit to ScienceDaily and other sites on the Internet. Users may learn more about the use of the advertising cookies by visiting Google's Advertising Policies & Principles page at http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/
